Botox & Fillers
Botox, Dysport and Xeomin have a lot in common but also have some important differences.
Neuromodulators such as Botox®Cosmetic, Dysport®, and Xeomin® are the #1 noninvasive cosmetic treatments for wrinkle reduction on the face providing a more youthful and rested appearance. Wrinkles and lines are natural facial features that become more prominent with aging. The goal of aesthetic facial rejuvenation is to reduce the signs of aging in a soft, natural, way. These products accomplish this goal by relaxing the muscles thereby reducing the appearance of certain wrinkles and lines or even reshaping the face. They are most commonly used for the vertical lines between the brows commonly referred to as the “11,” lines around the eyes or “crow’s feet”, and lines around the mouth or “smokers’ lines”. The average time required for the neuromodulator to have its desired effect is usually 3-7 days, although some patients require up to 2 weeks to realize the full effect. The duration of effect averages between 3-4 months and may last 6-9 months with repeat treatments.. The dose requirement is directly related to the size of the muscles being treated and the anatomical location.
We are pleased to feature Botox®Cosmetic at MDC Aesthetics Center.
Soft tissue fillers like Juvederm®, Juvederm Voluma®, Juvederm Volbella, Vollure, RestylaneLyft (formerly Perlane®), and Radiesse® are commonly utilized agents to restore generalized facial volume loss that occurs with age and thus regain a more youthful appearance. Signs of volume loss include hollowness beneath the eyes, heavy lines between the nose and upper lip (nasolabial folds), loss of fullness of cheeks, thinning of lips, vertical ‘smokers’ lines on upper and lower lips (even in people who have never smoked!), loss of projection of chin, downward turning of the corners of the mouth. A somewhat under-recognized truth is that fullness, as opposed to “tightness” is perhaps the most important hallmark of youth. Plastic surgery removes excess tissue or repositions structures that have fallen while fillers restore volume lost with aging process. The selection of the type of filler to be used and the quantity is dependent on the area desired for re-volumization and the level of correction needed by the treating provider. Most soft tissue fillers will last 9-12 months.
Kybella™ is a non-surgical treatment for submental fullness, often referred to as a double chin. Kybella™ is appropriate for men and women with a double chin or excess fat at the jawline. Because no general anesthesia is necessary, it is safe for almost everyone. Kybella dissolves excess fat cells it does not wewear away. As long as you maintain your weight, your jawline should stay taut and youthful, as the fat cells are permanently destroyed.
